I am Birgit Hettegger-Piemonte, the hands and heart behind Blue Hour Pottery.
I started Blue Hour Pottery as my personal next adventure.
After a life in Corporate Finance I was drawn to the magic of turning soft clay into something solid, useful, and beautiful.
There is something so satisfying about working with my hands — slowing down, embracing imperfections, and letting each piece become exactly what it wants to be.
What began as curiosity quickly grew into a passionate practice, and then into my garage studio where I now design and make every piece myself, from start to finish.
Pottery is more than just clay and glaze to me. It is about slow moments and everyday rituals. The mug you sip from in the morning, the bowl that holds your favorite cereal, the little dish that makes your keys look that much cuter — these are the objects that become part of life’s small joys.
I hand-craft every item in my studio — throwing on the wheel and hand building, glazing, and firing with care — so no two pieces are ever the same.
Expect whimsy, coastal charm, and plenty of personality in all of my pottery pieces.
Why Blue Hour Pottery?
Blue Hour Pottery grew out of a deep appreciation for both the craft and this place — a desire to turn everyday objects into things that feel special.
Whether it’s a platter that brings back the feelings of a beach walk, or a coffee mug that reminds you of your best friend every morning, my pottery is made to be lived with, loved, and cherished.
Thank you for visiting, and for supporting handmade artistry that is rooted in story, place, and play.
I hope you find something that feels just right.
